Description

This gray sweater is knit from a silky blend of baby alpaca — which does not, in fact, come from young alpacas but refers instead to the exceptional softness and fineness of the fibers — and silk. It’s the perfect transitional weight, and features a flattering saddle shoulder. Just below the rolled collar is a subtle pattern that’s both textural (thanks to a basketweave stitch) and visual (with broken lines that call to mind whitecaps on the ocean).

Founded in 1976, Inis Meáin Knitting Company’s garments are made using the centuries-old techniques of the Aran island it’s named after. The family-owned factory specializes in small, impeccably hand-finished runs of authentic, heritage sweaters inspired by traditional workwear.
