Murray Pearlstein, the founder and owner of Boston’s iconic menswear store, Louis Boston, is credited with first calling this style of knit jacket a “Pub Jacket.” This take is knit from crisp linen yarn at Inis Meáin. Founded in 1976, Inis Meáin Knitting Company’s garments are made using the centuries-old techniques of the Aran island it’s named after. The family-owned factory specializes in small, impeccably hand-finished runs of authentic, heritage sweaters.
